Areas of Learning
I am a strong believer that children best learn through play and when they are having fun.
During the daily routine I plan a number of activities for all children to partake in regardless of their age and ability. Through these activities children develop life skills and acheive milestones.
By reaching milestones and goals children learn to become confident and independent.
This is just one example of how a very simple toy can assist with many areas of development
Building Blocks
Numeracy – Shape, colour, size recognition, height, width, measurement.
Language – talking about houses and other buildings, shapes, colours, sizes, patterns creating a story using animals, people, dinosaurs in partnership with the blocks.
Physical – Hand eye co-ordination, banging, grasping, balance.
Creative – Designing towers and structure, patterns, colour, block placement, imagination who lives in the building
Social – sharing, taking turns, working together with friends to build large structures.
