My name is Alison Davies-Bell.

My husband John and I moved from Liverpool, UK to Hilversum, Netherlands in August 2000.
 
We have made our home here and in September 2007, our first son was born.
Our second son was born in December of 2012.

I studied in the UK to work with children, completing my N.N.E.B. in 1995.
Since then I have had vast and varied experience.

In England, I worked as a full time Nanny for a family with three young boys,

a teaching assistant in a primary school working with children from 4 to 7 year olds,

and until leaving the UK I ran a successful out of school unit (BSO) for children aged 4 to 11 years.

Whilst living in the Netherlands I gained further experience working both outside and within the childcare industry.
For four years I worked at Nike European Headquarters as an apparel product assistant.

Following my time in Nike, I worked as a Nursery Nurse in the British School of Amsterdam for three years working in the Nursery Department with children aged 3 to 5 years. I left the school shortly before our first son was born.

 

In November 2008, a little over a year after our son was born I started my own business, working from my own home as a childminder (gastouder) which I thoroughly enjoy.

I provide English speaking childcare to children aged approx. 3 months to 4 years in a fun, stimulating, warm and homely environment.  
My service is offered to children  from all nationalities, living in Hilversum and the surrounding areas.

Throughout the day the children have access to toys,  arts and crafts and other stimulating activities including outdoor opportunities.
They have their own sleeping room, with each child having its own cot or bed.
Breakfast and lunch can either be provided by me or brought in from home by you.

I am a fully registered childminder, working with a recognised childcare agency in the Netherlands, Therefore enabling parents to claim back the childcare allowance (kinderopvangtoeslag)
